PETER KOZMA is currently the Director of Opera and Musical Theater at The Ohio State University in Columbus. He began his musical studies at the age of six, and has since studied flute, voice and conducting. While completing his degree in vocal performance at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest, he founded the Ars Classica Chamber Opera, where he produced and directed numerous opera productions including The Magic Flute, L'elisir d'amore, Le nozze di Figaro and Don Giovanni. He also directed a production of L'Orfeo for the Budapest Chamber Opera. He has worked at the Hungarian State Opera and the Miskolc Summer Festival (Hungary) as assistant director, participating in productions including Das Rheingold, Le nozze di Figaro, Madama Butterfly, La Cenerentola, Carmen, La traviata, Tosca and Don Giovanni.

Mr. Kozma received his Master of Music degree in opera stage directing at University of Texas at Austin. His professional work in the United States includes collaboration with Wolf Trap Opera as well as at the Minnesota Opera where he directed a production of Rossini's Il Signor Bruschino and the American premier of Orazi e Curiazi. Mr. Kozma was a staff member with the Des Moines Metro Opera and was assistant stage director with the Chicago Opera Theater. He also directed a production of Eugene Onegin for Opera San Jose and will return to the California company to direct Le nozze di Figaro in the next season.
